There was so much love for the mini egg brownies AND then again for the brownie recipe in the DIY Christmas tree ones that I’ve decided to share these fun m&m blondies with you guys this week! You don’t even need to be a fan of white chocolate to enjoy these blondies – there is only a but so they are not as sweet as a traditional blondie. I’m not usually a big white chocolate lover but I definitely sneak one or two of these every year. Not Christmas time anymore? No worries, check out the ways you can change these up below for any season !
let’s get baking!
ally’s tips for brownies & blondies
Baking blondies is actually very similar to making brownies so a lot of the same tips apply!
Make sure you let them cool completely before you cut them (usually 1 hour). Hungry and don’t want to wait? You can leave them to cool for 20-30 minutes and then throw them in the fridge to finish. They also cut into perfect squares when chilled!
Don’t overcook ! The texture will go from soft and chewy to cake-like and possibly dry if cooked too long.
Bulldog clips for blondies? The batter is always slickly for blondies so use my bulldog clip from my banana bread recipe here to make it easier to spread the batter. You can also spray your spatula with cooking spray to make it easier to spread.
don’t love white chocolate?
Use semi- sweet chocolate chips instead! Even dark chocolate chips would do.
a few ways to change these up:
- Don’t love white chocolate? Use semi- sweet chocolate chips instead! Even dark chocolate chips would do.
- Not Christmas anymore? Replace your m&m’s with any of the following : smarties, oreo pieces, mini eggs or extra chocolate chips ! As long as you keep the same measurements, almost candies or chocolates will work.
storage:
Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days.
If you are wanting to freeze them, wrap them cut or uncut in plastic wrap and then aluminum foil. Place in freezer bag for up to 3 months. Let thaw for 2-3 hours until room temperature or slightly cool before serving.

White Chocolate M&M Blondies
Equipment
- 9×9” pan
- Mixer
- small mixing bowls
- Parchment Paper
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup salted butter room temperature
- 3/4 Cup light brown sugar packed
- 1/2 Cup sugar
- 3 Tsp vanilla
- 2 eggs room temperature
- 2 1/4 Cup flour leveled
- 1 Tsp baking soda
- Dash salt
- 3/4 Cup white chocolate chips
- 3/4 Cup Christmas m&m’s
- additional m&m’s for topping
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350.
- Prep 9×9” pan with either parchment paper or cooking spray.
- In a large mixer bowl combine room temperature butter and sugars. Mix until very well combined, should stick together and away from the sides of the bowl completely.
- Add room temperature eggs, one at a time mixing in between. Add vanilla and mix until combined.
- Add flour, white chocolate chips, m&m’s baking soda, and salt and mix until just combined. Batter will be a bit sticky but will stick together and way from the sides of the bowl.
- In prepared pan, spread blondie batter evenly through the pan, sprinkle extra m&m’s (or white chocolate chips) on top.
- Place in preheated over for 20-22 minutes. The middle will be a bit jiggly but that will make them chewy once cooled, if the centre doesn’t move at all they will be overcooked.
- Leave on stove top for 45 minutes to 1 hour. Remove from pan, cut and serve. Store in fridge for best results.
